God Answered Prayer! Baptist Home Missions Gets a New Office Building

God Answered Prayer! Baptist Home Missions Gets a New Office Building

By Ted Ball, General Director (October, 2001)

In 1994 when I became General Director of Baptist Home Missions, I began to pray for a permanent office for Baptist Home Missions. Over the last seven years as BHM grew, others joined in that prayer. The result was a large group of people scattered throughout the world praying that God would give BHM either land on which to build or an existing building to be used for an office.

New BHM Office, Front of AuditoriumOn June 21, 2001, God answered our prayer. Baptist Home Missions now owns, debt-free, over four acres of land and almost 5,000 square feet of building space. It is located in Efland, NC, 1/2 mile off Interstates 40 and 85. It is less than six miles from our home and is an ideal location. As I sit here reflecting on what God has done, Ephesians 3:20-21 comes to mind, "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."

The building consists of an auditorium that seats about 120, two offices, two restrooms, five classrooms, and a large fellowship hall. The building became ours so quickly that we are only now beginning to formulate plans for its use.

First, we have moved into the new facilities. Baptist Home Missions now resides at 119 Maple Street, Efland. Our new mailing address is Baptist Home Missions, P.O. Box 176, Efland, NC 27243-0176. Our new office phone number is 919-245-1534. When we are home, we will keep office hours of 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Give us a call or drop by.

In addition to moving our offices, we are making plans to have Family Week 2002 in Efland at our new building. It will be a large undertaking, but doable. Please pray as we plan.

We hope to install showers and a Prophet's Chamber for mission use. We also would like to install some hook-ups for campers and RV's for future use. Please pray for added wisdom.

New BHM Office, Fellowship Hall and OfficesBaptist Home Missions does not now have enough monthly income to pay all the bills the building demands. Heating, air conditioning, water, insurance, repairs, and renovations cost money. Thus the board has two goals. First, we are seeking to raise $25,000 for immediate operating costs and renovations. We have received $11,730 to date. On a regular monthly basis we need $450 in new giving to meet our monthly budget. Please pray for both of these needs.

With all that has been accomplished, we are anticipating greater growth within Baptist Home Missions. While God's grace and your prayers have brought us this far, we call upon you to help meet these immediate needs and to wisely plan for the future. Let us now all give glory and praise to the Lord for these great things He has done.
