We are an independent Baptist home-mission board planting churches throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. We were organized in 1969 for the purpose of planting independent Baptist churches in the United States, especially in the Southeast. In the 1970’s churches were planted in Missouri, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Currently we have nearly 40 missionaries either planting churches or involved in church rescue work.

Missions is the plan of God for propagating the gospel (Mark 16:15; Matt. 28:19, 20). Home missions is as necessary to the work of God as foreign missions since it is the very foundation for sending the gospel to the "uttermost part of the earth" (Acts 1:8).

We are supported entirely by God's people. We are a faith mission dependent upon the financial support of local churches and individuals. BHM is a vital arm of the local church in propagating the gospel at home and abroad. Churches established by BHM send missionaries to all parts of the world.
