OUR VISION
“Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.”Matthew 9:38
This command of our Lord’s, given over 2000 years ago, still applies today. We at Baptist Home Missions covet your prayers for laborers for the following areas of church planting for North America.

Northeast United States
The part of our nation which once gave us great revival is now spiritually bankrupt. Several good churches have been planted in New England in the last few years, but many, many more are needed. South Throughout the south, it is easy to find towns that are growing at a fast rate. Thus, towns too small to support a church five years ago, need a gospel witness today. Midwest Churches change and churches die. Thus, even in places throughout the Midwest, there is a need for Bible believing churches. Western United States It is not unusual to find towns of twenty to thirty thousand or more with no fundamental Bible preaching church. Many large cities of a million or more have only a few good churches. Rural Areas There are many rural counties in the United States that have no independent, fundamental Baptist church. Inner City A large portion of the United States population live in cities. In the middle of every large city is the inner city. The inner city is usually a high crime area inhabited by drug dealers and users, homeless people and other needy people. BHM missionaries have planted churches in Baltimore, Cincinnati, and St. Louis. We also have a ministry in the inner city of Philadelphia, and we have plans to expand into Chicago and Jacksonville, Florida. |
Blacks
There are approximately forty million black people in America. Very few of them are born again fundamental Bible believing Christians. Baptist Home Missions, under the leadership of Dr. James Earls, is trying to enlist fundamental black preacher to go as church planters to reach their own people. Hispanics By the year 2025, Hispanics may make up 1/4 of the United States population. We need Spanish-speaking church planters to reach them until they do. They are often most receptive to the gospel when they first come to America. Other Ethnic Groups We realize that there are large populations of immigrants in the United States. We are willing to help reach all of these ethnic groups of people. Feel free to contact us if God is speaking to you about reaching a particular group of people. Canada Canada has over 28 million people but has only about 200 Bible preaching fundamental Baptist churches. Quebec alone has over 7 million people and only about a dozen gospel preaching churches. There are also native Canadian Indian tribes who have no gospel witness. Church Building Teams We realize that one of the biggest problems facing our church planters is building or renovating a suitable church building. Therefore, we are looking for men who are willing to go on deputation, raise support, and spend full time building churches. These church building teams of 2-4 men each would live on site until the building is finished. As you can see, there are a variety of needs and opportunities in North America. Please pray with us that God will send laborers to the harvest fields of North America. |
